Government and Law
The U.S government has made, kept, and removed laws to keep the people in our country safe. But clearly this country isn't as safe as the government wants it to be.
Each law starts as an idea. These ideas can come from many different places including special interest groups, the President, members of Congress, and regular citizens. The next step is that the idea must be written down and explained. The first draft of the idea is called a bill. The bill then needs a member of Congress to back the law. That person is someone who believes strongly in the bill and wants to see it turned into a law. The person can either be a Senator or a member of the House of Representatives.
Though there are many laws, they don't always work. Some laws are not even necessary. There are a couple of law ideas that are definitely not necessary. Like the idea that energy drinks should be banned, or having a limit to having one house to one car.
There are four different places to find our laws. Our laws in the United States come from the Constitution, federal and state statutes, administrative regulations, and from cases that are held. Each country's legal system has its own sources of law, but for those countries that have Constitutions, the Constitutions are the most important place where we get our laws.

I enjoyed how you explained how laws are created, or passed, and how some laws are just restrictions that aren't necessary for the well-being of the US. I myself enjoy researching about how some laws were created, and about the founding fathers who helped build our country, and how they helped form our country with laws. I do wonder how could people possibly get laws removed, if enough people disagreed with them.
ReplyDeleteNormally, for a way to remove a law is to make another better one that would replace the first one.
DeleteGreat job! I think that the whole blog was very informative. Did you know that 39 people signed the U.S constitution and 55 people attended Constitutional Conventions? Do you know who the Senators are?
ReplyDeleteI did not know that 39 people signed. There are multiple Senators. There are currently about 100 Senators representing the 50 states.
DeleteI think it is very odd how the government makes laws that aren't even necessary. I really liked how you mentioned the process of how the laws are made! It was very interesting. How many laws are there?
ReplyDeleteThank you! There are about 5,000 crime laws and 10,000-300,000 regulation laws.
DeleteWOW that's so many laws for one country!
